George Isaac - the excellent rower - at OxfordGeorge Isaac was one of the very few Indian students who rowed while at Oxford - Rowing is the most prestigious sport in Oxford and in Cambridge - it requires close harmony among the eight rowers in a boat and skill in dealing with the changing currents in the river - and the wind- and it requires great and continuous physical exertions in a race which might go on for 30 - 45 minutes - George rowed in what was one of the fastest and most successful boats on the Isis - the river in Oxford.
